SIEMENS' SIPART PS2 are electronic, high-tech valves or other execution elements controllers. SIPART PS positioners work either with linear or quarter-turn rotary acting actuators setting them in required position.

  • SIEMENS SIPART PS2 is a  digital valve positioner with a local interface that control a pneumatic actuator using a two-wire 4-20 mA, Foundation fieldbus or Profibus signal. The instrument offers universal design for linear or rotary actuators, ease of retrofit in place of existing analog positioners, either single-acting or double-acting.

    Principle of operation

    SIPART PS2 positioner controlls control valve or other device through their actuator position. Input signal is converted to pneumatic output affecting required actuator positioning.

    Input signal can be either:

    • analogue 4-20 mA + HART
    • digital Foundation fieldbus signal
    • digital Profibus signal

    Applications

    Positioners are widely used in process industries such as:

    • chemical
    • petrochemical
    • power plants
    • paper industry
    • food industry
